About Boating Safely Classes

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be hosting a free About Boating Safely course in March for interested Brevard high school and middle school students! This beginner boating class will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a Florida Boating Safety Education Card (required by anyone born after January 1st 1988).  Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete About Boating Safely. This class does not take students out onto the water; however, it does teach them about the rules of the waterways and boating safety. The classes will take place at the VHS media center Tuesday and Thursday, March 17th and 19th from 6 to 9 p.m. People should call Dan McIntyre at 321-759-9705 or email him at d7mcintyre@aol.com to reserve a spot. You may borrow a book to study from; however, you may also purchase one for $15. More information can be found here:1. About Boating Safely Viera High
