HOSA club recently attended the HOSA State Competition in Orlando. 9 students attended the Conference for Viera High and one came out as a 2nd place winner! There were 3,350 Secondary and Post-Secondary competitors and Peter Karmaker came in second in DENTAL TERMINOLOGY!! The next round of competition is in Dallas, Texas in June which is the International Leadership Conference for HOSA. Hurry before they are all sold out.Viera High School’s Theatre department presents the musical Into the Woods performed by the actors and actresses of Troupe 7083. ⠀⠀The story of Into the Woods is a tangle of some of the Brothers Grimm’s most notable tales - from Little Red Riding-hood and Jack the Giant Slayer to Rapunzel and Cinderella. Their characters all possess a wish or goal that causes them to venture into the plot of the musical: Cinderella wishes to go to the Festival, Jack wishes that his cow would produce milk for food, Little Red wishes to see her grandmother in the woods, and the Baker and his Wife wish to have a child. When their neighbor, the Witch, reveals a solution to a curse that was put upon the Baker’s family, they take no chances and search for the ingredients to lift the spell that lie inside the woods. Along the way, these characters interact with one another while getting the things to become happy and content. Winner of 3 Tony awards including Best Original Score, Stephen Sondheim creates a poignant show that explores the adage “be careful what you wish for.” It tells a story of the strength and importance of community in “No One is Alone” and admonishes adults to be careful to practice what they preach because “Children will Listen.” ⠀⠀The show will be performed in the Viera High School Auditorium on April 27th, 28th, and 29th at 7pm, and a 2pm Matinee on April 29th.
