Track and Field

The boys and girls track & field teams competed in the highly competitive Class 4A District Track Meet at Lake Brantley High School recently.   All runners, whether they advanced to regionals or not, ran phenomenally.  There were several personal records all around.  Great job and congratulations!

• Victoria Wayne – District Champ in high jump
• Greg Nelson – District Champ in triple jump

• Vianca Alfonso – 3^rd place shot put
• Will Sattler – 4^th place 110m hurdles

• Hannah Baker – 4^th place 1600 (mile).  Also, she set a new school record beating the old time of 5:28 by 6 seconds running a 5:22
• 4×100 relay girls – 4^th place (Gabby Vassallo, Fendi Johnson, Macey Norton, Victoria Wayne)
• 4×100 relay boys – 3^rd place (Shaun Wayne, Greg Nelson, Tre Nixon, Devin Nixon)
• Andrea Wilson 4^th place 400m
• Fendi Johnson – 4^th place 300m hurdle

• Anthony Turnoff – 4^th place 300m hurdle

Girls Basketball

Congratulations to Dee Anderson, Ro Hayes and Coach Risberg for being recognized by Florida Today.  Dee was named FL Today Girls Basketball Player of the Year and All- CCC Team.  Ro was named to the FL Today First Team and All- CCC Team.   Mrs. Risberg was named FL Today Coach of the Year.  Now how’s that for a good week?  Go Hawks!

Viera Wrestling

The team ended the 2012-2013 season as it most successful ever!  Congratulations to the 2013 Cape Coast Conference Champs.
